Group Activities for The 100th Day of School

Hooray for the 100th Day of School!

Movement Activity - Plan a wake-up workout with 10 of 10 movements like wiggle and slide. Use visuals like Action Cards to help the children remember the sequence of movements. Put on your favorite happy music and get the group moving! For an added challenge, cover the visual reminders and see if the children remember the sequence.

Science Activity - Get 100 ice cubes and put them in a big bowl. Have children predict:
  • how much water they will make after they melt
  • how long it will take
  • how high the water will go

Literacy Activity - Have children pick 10 letters and have the class think of 10 words that start with each letter. Write answers on the board. Try to make sentences using the words. Can you make a story?

Math Activity - Make a scavenger hunt by having children find 100 objects from the room and place in size order.

When is your 100th Day of School? How do you celebrate?
